The National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO) awarded teaching kits to 41 beneficiaries of the “Sa ‘Pinas, Ikaw ang Ma’am/Sir” (SPIMS) program on 29 July 2018 in Chalet, Baguio City.
The 41 OFW Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) passers were given laptops and teaching materials that will serve as their learning tools for students for a more interactive, collaborative and engaging classes.
Assistant Regional Director Mr. Jesus Elpidio B. Atal Jr awarded the teaching kits. He said that “the SPIMS program beneficiaries are very fortunate to receive the kits, aside from the regular plantilla positions given to them as public school teachers.”
The SPIMS program is in response to the call of the DepEd in hiring more public-school teachers nationwide to support the full implementation of the K-12 program and DOLE's thrust to bring home OFWs and to be with their families.
This program is in partnership with Philippine Normal University (PNU), Department of Education (DepEd), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and Commission on Higher Education (CHED). ###
